Due Back...

Literature adds to reality, it does not simply describe it. It enriches the necessary competencies that daily life requires and provides; and in this respect, it irrigates the deserts that our lives have already become. -C.S Lewis

I have a lot to catch up with here.

Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt. My neighbor lent me this book and it was good. It was a funny and heart wrenching memoir about the author's life growing up in poverty in Ireland.

'Tis by Frank McCourt. This book picked up where Angela's Ashes left off. Also good.

A Monk Swimming by Malachy McCourt. Malachy is Frank McCourts brother. He was such an endearing character in Frank's books that I was delighted to see he wrote his own memoir. It was good, but he doesn't have quite the way with words as his brother.

The Constant Princess
by Phillipa Gregory. I was intrigued with Queen Katherine's character in The Other Boleyn Girl so I decided to read Phillipa Gregory's book that told her story.
