Due Back...

Literature adds to reality, it does not simply describe it. It enriches the necessary competencies that daily life requires and provides; and in this respect, it irrigates the deserts that our lives have already become. -C.S Lewis

Persuasion by Jane Austen

Billy Straight by Jonathan Kellerman

The Well-Educated Mind: A Guide to the Classical Education You Never Had
by Susan Wise Bauer. This is an excellent book about learning how to read good literature. It includes recommended reading lists. I wish I would of read this in high school, or even college. She writes about the three stages of education: grammer (absorption), logic (evaluate) and rhetoric (forming ones own opinion). She is right, it is an education I never had.
