My Jane Austen theme continues:
Mr. Knightley's Diary by Amanda Grange. This was okay, but it didn't really show me anything about Mr. Knightly that I didn't already imagine.
Wayward Love: Captain Frederick Wentworth's Story by Regina Jeffers. Now this one, I really loved. It went above and beyond the original story.
Persuading Annie by Melissa Nathan. This book is a modern re-telling of Persuasion. Besides the language (what, exactly, is foul language supposed to add to a story?), I thought it was pretty good. The perfect tension just wasn't there though, as it is with the original.
Sanditon: Jane Austen's Unfinished Masterpiece Completed by Jane Austen and Juliette Shapiro. Wasn't too crazy about this. I did like the characters though.
The Abolition of Man by C. S. Lewis. This was a critique of textbooks and their effect on children. Also, about modern philosophy and what happens when we lose objective morals.
Readings for Meditation and Reflection by C.S Lewis. This wasn't a book written by him, but a compilation of excerpts from books he wrote.
Last Chance by Sarah Dessen. This book was okay although not nearly as good as her other books.
