Due Back...

Literature adds to reality, it does not simply describe it. It enriches the necessary competencies that daily life requires and provides; and in this respect, it irrigates the deserts that our lives have already become. -C.S Lewis

The Magician's Nephew by C.S Lewis (first in the Chronicles of Narnia)
I checked this out to read aloud to the boys. This was a great book! I had to stop and clarify things once in a while, and refresh the boy's memory each time before I read but they enjoyed it.

Hot Lights, Cold Steel Life, Death and Sleepless Nights in a Surgeon's First Years by Michael J. Collins, M.D. I really enjoy books written by doctors about their residencies and training. I was excited to see a new one on the shelf as I have already read every other one at the library.****Very good! I was not disapointed in the least.

Messie No More by Sandra Felton

I heard this author a few years ago on Focus on the Family. I am only on the third page, but I know i'm gonna like it.

This book showed me something I did not expect! I'm mulling over a regular blog entry on it...

First books of 2006

I have always wished I kept a journal of books I have read. I decided that now is a good time to start! The stars are my own rating (1-5), no stars means I haven't read it yet. I came home with these books after our first trip to the library this year:

Nourishing Traditions The cookbook that Challenges Politically Correct Nutrition and the Diet Dictocrats by Sally Fallon. ***

Haircutting for Dummies by J. Elaine Spear*** (I have found all the "for Dummies" books I have read to be easy to understand and full of good info)

Does This Make Me Look Fat? by Leah Feldo *

What not to wear by Trinny Woodall & Susannah Constantine ***

How to Start Making Money with your Sewing by Karen Maslowski

simple knits for cherished babies

Knits for Barbie doll by Nicky Epstein ****
